By integrating performance standards, students receive clear expectations for assessment,
instruction and student work. Using a common standard also defines the level of work that demonstrates incremental effort and achievement. Lastly, standards help to prioritize the
learning focus by isolating and identifying the requisite knowledge and skills for students to
problem solve, reason, communicate, and make connections with other information.
The academy also supports reading across the curriculum by providing students with
the opportunity to read in all curriculum areas and participate in discussions to establish
context and deeper understanding.
The academy’s curriculum is aligned in the following format:
PROGRAM CONCENTRATION: Government & Public Safety
CAREER PATHWAY: JROTC – Army
