All students enrolled at Langston Hughes are eligible for participation in the Leadership Academy. The first step is to visit your counselor and enroll in a Leadership Education class (JROTC). For those students interested in an additional challenge, the academy will offer a Leadership Acceleration Program as a supplemental opportunity for scholar-leaders aspiring to develop advanced leadership and management skills.

If so, then the Leadership Academys Acceleration Program is for you.
The Langston Hughes Leadership Academy is currently seeking students to serve in executive leader roles for its 2010 - 2011 inaugural class.
Executive leaders will have complete ownership and the responsibility for operating the academy. The following list provides a sample of the many leadership opportunities that will be available through the leadership academy.
Chief Executive Officer (Battalion Commander)
Chief Operating Officer (Battalion Operations Officer)
Chief Financial Officer (Battalion Finance Officer)
Division Chief (Company Commander)
Branch Chief (Platoon Leader)
Students interested in participating must complete the following actions prior to March 31, 2010.
1) Develop a single page scholar-leader profile using PowerPoint. A downloadable template is available at the link below.

2) Write an essay (approx 350-500 words) outlining your perspective on the topic Self-Management the Key to Achievement.
