             The mission of the Academy is to prepare students for the challenges of the 21^st Century by promoting academic excellence in a caring and stable learning environment. As a premier leadership program, we aspire to help students gain an enduring life perspective that will guide them through the challenges of the future. To this end, we provide a wide variety of leadership and learning activities that allow our students to experience leadership and management challenges firsthand. Our philosophy is simple; educate the whole child through the cultivation of common threads between education, civic duty, and moral responsibility.

        We invite you to browse our website for a quick tour to increase your understanding of the scope of our program and the many ways that we support and encourage student achievement. The following list is a quick reference that highlights the major features available on this site:

• Develop an understanding of our leadership philosophy and project-based learning and instructional model.
• Review the Army JROTC curriculum which serves as the framework for facilitating core subjects and integrating 21st Century content. Our curriculum focus includes:

             1)   Global awareness,

             2)   Financial, economic, business, and entrepreneurial literacy,

             3)   Health and wellness awareness, and

             4)   Learning and thinking skills,

             5)   21^st Century content addressing information and communications technology literacy, life skills,

                   and 21st Century learning assessments.  

            In addition to challenging academic requirements, students are also provided the opportunity to participate in a variety of co-curricular activities. The links to our video clips and photo album will provide a visual overview as well. Research has proven that parental involvement has a strong, positive effect on student achievement.  Moreover, parental effort is consistently associated with higher levels of achievement, and the magnitude of the effect of parental effort is substantial. We encourage you to visit the parent information link to learn about parent expectations, the parent support organization, volunteering, as well as fundraisers. Please feel free to contact us and request information. You may also help shape your student’s educational experience through blog and survey participation.

            Lastly, the academy depends upon generous support from a variety of sources, including the Federal government, the state of Georgia, community and corporate partners, as well as our family and friends - individuals like you. Your gifts are very important and essential to the continued success of the Leadership Academy. We encourage donations in support of LHLA's student- led, character-based leadership and service initiatives.
